Better than the original

I left the Mount that came with the GPS in a Rental car. This one works much better than the introductory - it is more compact, and it doesn't bounce around. It was hard for me to find a new mount that came with the clip that wraps around the GPS - I had to go onto other web sites to affirm that this model did - because you can't always trust a Amazon picture you know....

I purchased this item from Semson's for $11 + S/H. It arrived in good condition in a few days. It did not rather fit because on the bottom of the Magellan 3225 receiver there is a little screw and tab. I fixed this is less than a minute with a Dremel tool, cutting out a 1 cm section on the bottom of the cradle to concede it to slip over the screw mount and tab on the receiver bottom. This does not affect function or appearance. Also, the cradle has a little metal strip in the socket for the ball mount. This strip must be got rid of with a needle nosed pliers so that the ball may slip into the socket. Once this is done, the ball may be pushed into the socket, creating a secure but flexible mount. No instructions come with the unit. I have read a lot of reviews that said the cradle didn't fit their unit: it did after the simple modifications noted above.

Just as described!

It is much more compact than the initial mount that came with my Magellan 4250 which worked out perfectly. Very simple and easy to mount on the windshield. Great Price, I unquestionably recommend.
