Garmin Data Programmer Cards 010 10776 00

The Garmin 010-10776-00 USB 2.0 Data Card Programmer lets you download map details directly to your info card, without having to use your Garmin GPS unit. This unit connects to your PC's USB port on one end, and transfers data to the built-in selective information card base on the other. Not only does this save you time by transferring selective information thru high-speed USB 2.0 rather than at the slower GPS device pace, but it also saves your GPS unit's battery permitting you to be out on the road sooner and for longer. The Garmin 101-10776-00 data card programmer fits usual SD data cards, and is approximately two inches in diameter and six feet in length.

THIS ITEM NOT 64 BIT COMPATIBLE

This device is not compatible with 64 bit windows operating systems. Confirmed by garmin technical support. Be aware.

Garmin USB Data Card Programmer

This USB card interface provides a method of programming a Garmin info card to interchange infomation amongst your computer and the GPS unit and to install software updates for your Garmin GPS. It installs without apparent effort and works great. I now have elaborate map selective information on a 32mb info card installed in my Garmin GPSMap 178c GPS/Sounder. It is great.

Not compatible with normal SD cards

Not all SD cards are the same! Please be conscious that SD memory cards and Garmin SD Data Cards are totally dissimilar animals. Even even though Garmin's website shows that you may use micro SD cards with SD adapter in a peculiar GPS, that is dissimilar than a Garmin SD Data Card.

Otherwise I'm sure that for the right application, this is a outstanding device!
