Garmin 855
By Luke
Good speech recognition. I was astonished at the accuracy of speech recognition. Just tell it where to go, and it hasn't made an error yet...! A handy feature when you're on the road. I purchased it for that sole reason..and I'd buy it again...and it's the refurbished unit at that. The refurbed unit + 4 yr ext'd warranty is for less than new...! Very good accuracy.

great unit for the price
By Al R
Garmin Nuvi 855 refurbished is a very nice unit for the price. I have now owned 4 Garmin models and one TomTom My wife threatened to run over the TomTom since a good deal of addresses were missing In our rural area of northern Wisconsin,(TomToms response was "You may find the address and upload them to us")GPS in reverse. I then purchased her a Garmin and she was very happy. She is still using her old Garmin and loves it. The Nuvi is very quick to lock onto the Satellites. I have owned the unit for one month. It worked out of the box. I purchased lifetime maps and downloaded them to the device without issue. Compact but a very nice size widescreen. I like that the speed limit, and the speed you are going are posted on the screen. The arrow showing the direction of the next turn always in the corner is great. My wife thinks the voices could use a little help. I am not crazy in regards to the screen colors but have not figured out how to modify them yet. I like the idea I may transfer the info from my old GPS stored and uploaded to MapSource to the new Nuvi 855. I wish it had an external volume control rather of using the touch screen. The windshield mount is very convenient. I love the unit and I would buy it again, it is much better then my old garmin streetpilot 340 which I also loved.
