2Decent item but sluggish response and VERY outdatted maps
By P. Oza
Ok, I got this GPS because all the features looked great on paper. Maps of Canada were included and likewise it had a SD elaboration slot. NO TTS, but thats ok. 6 million POIs is more than most. Took it for a drive the original day and it could not find a cold stone creamery near me. ITs been around for a couple of years, so right off the bat I was disappointed with the POIs. Then I asked it to take me home - at night - bad idea... not only did I end up in downtown, but most of the turns were underneath construction or non-existent. I had to shut it off eventually. It is rather good at recalculating the route even though - only once did it ask me to take a U-turn (too bad it was on a state highway).
It is also rather sluggish to recognize my selections and occasionally hangs up in the middle of inputting addresses. Very distracting.

Not all is bad thought. I later tried sitting in my house and attempting to pull up respective routes and it did an admirable occupation - most routes were very similar to Google Maps. It acquires a lock very speedily and as stated above, recalculated routes speedily and efficiently.

I need a basic GPS to guide me around, and I guess I will be returning this one due to the old maps.
Also, the warranty is only 90 days and not 2 years as stated here.

5Magellan Roadmate 3000T worked great
By Doctor Dave
I read a heap of other reviews before I purchased this product and since owning it I have made a few observations of my own. First the navigation system will only be as good as the map which the unit contains. We all know that they are always working on and adding new roads so to keep the accuracy the map must be upgraded. Megellan has a new one hopefully coming out in September. Secondly the user ought to know and understand how to use the GPS. It is not hard but you must grasp it. If you type something incorrectly you will get an wrong response. Some humans said they did not like the buttons around the outside of the unit. If I was keeping it in my hands I would and did accidently push one or two but when it is sitting on your dash which is where it is suppose to be then the buttons made it posing no difficulty to work with. We employed the 3000T on a vacation trip from Texas up to Tennessee and the unit worked very very well. It was never without a signal and only twice did it not agree with the road. This was because the roads were new. Because the system will carry on to route a path both times it still helped us get to where we necessitated to go. Using it to type in points of interest was a sheer time and life saver. If you wanted to go to a sure address it would take you there. If you wanted to go to a surely place of interest (like Andrew Jackson's home)it would take you there. I will never take a trip without it. It worked and worked well.

5An magnificent buy
By M. Bowen
This is an excellent, lowpriced GPS unit. I use it each day, including taking it in my luggage and using it in my rental cars. The features are great, the menu scheme is well laid out, and the system is easy to use. The capacity to invent points of interest on a PC and transfer them to the unit is just icing on the cake. I plan a trip, creat points for my trip, load them, and go for it. I have had no difficulties in 2 months of heavy use, which is great for a refurbished item, but I have always liked Magellan equipment.
