Boy, were we mute when it comes to GPS units.
I am one of the most geographically challenged persons on this planet, so when I got a probability to review this Magellan Roadmate 9055 unit, I jumped on it. I've never owned a GPS but have always wanted one. DH and I mistakenly thought, however, that we had to have a per month service agreement to use one. How enjoyably astonished we were to discover that we just plug it in, tell it where we want to go, and go! We also are happy with how huge and readable the screen is. Being older folks, we need that larger screen. With the AV-in capability (for watching videos or DVDs on the Roadmate 9055), the 7" screen is a definitive boon must we find ourselves on a long trip.

Magellan RoadMate 9055
The primary reason I purchased this item was the screen size. At 7" it's massive equated to the TomTom & Garmin units. I not long back applied it on a trip to Cornwall PA from the East coast of NJ and it was spot on on all maneuvers. The big screen makes it a pleasure to use and the voice is clear and distinct. The menus are clear and intuitive and most importantly, easy to use and navigate through while driving. Unlike a factory built in unit, this unit allows you to use all functions while the vehicle is in motion. The only downside for a great deal of may be the fixed battery life making a DC adapter a must. I was only capable to get regarding 45 minutes from a charge until the unit shut down. I suppose the huge display comes at the expense of battery life. This is not an issue for me as I have it hard wired into my truck and don't have the need to use it solely on battery power. The windshield suction cup did loose it's suction and fall off a few times. I suspect this is due to the weight on the unit and the fact that I have it in a heavy mercantile truck that has a very stiff suspension. I was capable to reposition the mount so the bottom on the unit was supported by the dash. This took most of the weight off the suction cup and solved the problem. It hasn't fallen off since. All in all if you are looking for GPS NAvigator this one will not disappoint.

Love it
This is my second GPS. The introductory being a rather crappy and little Nextar that was included with the car. So right off the bat, I am starting off with a rather unever comparison.

The Magellan GPS has a ton of features, a good deal of very necessary while the others are a nice touch but not essential. This includes the AAA recommendations. I love the rerouting feature which is gorgeous fast. It likewise comes with Bluetooth capabilities. This thing is huge so be careful in regards to mounting it on the windshield as it may come off. I fundamentally set it on the dashboard and adjusted the holder in a way as to provide aid at the base.

I am a bit biased in regards to the price as I received mine free of cost from Vine. I am not sure how much these brands run normally but Amazon has it listed at $250.
