Magellan Roadmate Gps Dash Mount

If you want to impress your friends by owning a 7-inch GPS, and still have everything you would want from a popular GPS, then keep reading and see where the Magellan Roadmate 1700 GPS rises to the occasion, and where at times, it falls short.

Keep in mind the 1700 has a heap of of the standard features of other GPS manufacturers such as Highway Lane Assist, an auto-complete feature when entering city and street names, POI's and voice guidance.

A few exclusives to the device are the Triple A TourBook Guide and OneTouch favorites menu. I think Magellan did well with this model in supplying a big screen GPS and not going overboard with all kinds of extras that galore of us don't in truth need.

Another great extra on this unit is the zoom in and zoom out feature as well as the option to view in 2d or 3d. Below I've listed a good deal of masters and cons of the RoadMate 1700.

PROS

  • Large screen makes for posing no difficulty navigation and less eyestrain while driving and the screen is very clear with a good resolution. The larger keys make it having little impact to enter city and street names.
  • Option to enter destinations by zip code first. This is genuinely commodious when making multiple stops and it is ofttimes having little impact to enter a zip code versus a long city name.
  • Touch screen is very responsive, a light touch is all that's needed. Voice commands are piercing and clear.
  • Locks on to satellite signal quicker than a heap of other models.

CONS

  • Window mount, even with aggressive suction cup, may cause the unit to bounce a bit while driving on rough roads. A distinguished mounting arm is available.
  • This model does not have a traffic update feature.
  • No Bluetooth connectivity available.

If you want a somewhat priced GPS that affords a big screen and gets gets good reviews all around, the Magellan Roadmate 1700 GPS is an splendid pick.

A lot of humans like this model because it's basic, i.e., doesn't have a lot of the bells and whistles of other models and it's overall easy to use. I wouldn't commend this GPS if you own a little car but if you drive an SUV, larger car or are a truck driver, it will give you what you need and get from point A to point B with little trouble.

There are a number of stores that trade it online. Some offer discounts and some merely have low prices. A few offer free shipping.

2Not so great
By Caden
This product didn't fit my GPS unit (although it says that it does!). Bummer. Anyway, when I tried it with one that did fit, it was all over the dash. So......

1Perfect if you like a flying GPS
By Joyce From Jersey
This product is total crap. The base is perfectly fine and looks incisively like the base for the Garmin GPS my sister has. It stays in place no matter what the road conditions. To make it work for the Magellan they provide a flimsy little attachment that hardly connects with the ball in place to hold the other model GPS. Hit a bump in the road and the GPS will fly off of the base along with the flimsy attachment. I had to reach down quickly and throw it in my lap and rely on what the GPS voice was telling me without seeing the map until I could pull over and reattach it to the base. If you want to feel safe on the road do not buy this product.
