Magellan Roadmate Gps Windshield Mount

If you're looking to buy a Magellan Roadmate GPS there are a few things you need to know. Of course, you need to know where to get one at the best possible price and that's why I wrote this article. But first, let's look at what's most primary to most drivers:

  • The GPS will have to have a big screen. Not so big that it obliterates your view of the road, obviously, but big sufficient to be competent to focus on it speedily when you glimpse at it for directions. Earlier Roadmates had little screens that were a bit difficult to see but the 5045-LM addresses this question utterly with a five inch wide screen.
  • Ease of use. Some GPS schemes are fiddly to set up. Obviously you don't want to leave your priceless GPS stuck to your screen when you park the car, so it needs to be easy to attach and remove. The Garmin always suffered from this-it had a stiff cable that that was difficult to manage and a very little attachment socket. The new Magellan Roadmate GPS 5045-LM incorporates it is power attachment into the screen mount, so the GPS unit mechanically connects when you attach it to the mount. A much better solution, I think.
  • Up-to-date maps. With the amount of road building that's going on in a heap of areas it's crucial to have up to date maps other than as supposed or expected you could end up attempting to go down a road that's now closed, or is now a one-way street. Or you could miss out on the gain of a new route if your GPS doesn't know it exists. Make sure your GPS comes with free lifetime map updates.

The only downside I may see is that Magellan don't offer Mac help for the updating software. But most humans have access to a PC someplace in their life so I guess it's not the end of the world.

I only purchased this to replace the one I had. It's a suction cup. That's all. Do I in truth need to waste time out of my day to write a review for a stupid suction cup? I guess so.

This product does what it's supposed to do which is secure a Magellan GPS to a windshield. I've had mine up for a few weeks now and have had no problems. It does what it's supposed to do.

4Magellan Windshield Mount

This mount is incisively like the mount that in the first place came with the unit. I had lost mine on a trip. At the same time I purchased a Gillson Beanbag Mount see Gilsson UBM Portable Car Non-Skid Friction Beanbag Dashboard Mount for Garmin, TomTom, Magellan and more. This was a outstanding addition for vehicles in which the windshield is far away such as on a Chevy Venture.
