Advantages: You can pinpoint a location anywhere on the planet to withing a few feet.
This allows many things, from moving maps in your car to dropping bombs on the exact location you want.
Disadvantage: The satellite network is vulnerable to attack, destroying a few of them will cripple the system.
I’ve also noticed that it has reduced peoples knowledge of where they are and how to get around without the electronic crutch.
